Samantha Togni’s debut single premieres on The 405 ..

Posted on November 26th, 2016

Samantha Togni is an East London based producer / DJ who is officially releasing her debut single “Queen Nemesis” featuring rapper/MC Janset via Doner Music (Aquadrop, Retrohandz, Big Fish) on the 28th of November. The track produced by Samantha is fusing bass heavy trap with fierce “warrior queen” grime from North London’s Janset (BBC Maida Vale Grime Orchestra, BBC 1Xtra, Glastonbury) who was formerly part of the duo Stinkahbell. 2016 has seen the rise of grime in a male dominated scene, however this creative female collective lead by Samantha are pushing these boundaries with a unique artistic sound and vision.

“Queen Nemesis” is a modern day story of acceptance, which has been inspired by the misinterpretation of the goddess Medusa in Greek mythology. The video directed by the iconic club kid Kassandra Powell (Candy Ken, Larry Tee) is very powerful, with three individual tribes lead by Samantha uniting regardless of appearance, race, gender or sexual orientation. As lyricist Janset ferociously spits “don’t judge a book by its cover” it becomes apparent that what can be perceived as different and therefore a threat isn’t always the case.

Big thanks to the 405 for premiering the video – click here
